Sustainable Summer Essentials
Our recommended brands to keep you looking good and protecting the planet this summer.
As we have talked about in our other articles, there is a massive importance in staying sustainable and being a conscious consumer. This is important still in the summer and with the heatwaves expected we have curated a specific summer essential list. We will continue to be posting on our socials (Twitter and Instagram) with more ways to be sustainable this summer so keep a look out!
For this article we will be highlighting 3 suncreams that protect your skin and the planet.
Raw Love Suncream
This brand makes suncreams that are specifically made to protect coral and reef life. Raw Love is an American company who use natural ingredients as the bases of their creams. They are also vegan and cruelty free, which we also love!
The cream has a lovely texture and is not sticky like other suncreams on the market. The natural ingredients also have a lovely smell to it.
The prices range from $14, €13 (suncream stick) to $22.99, €22.99 (4oz of cream). While they are an American brand, they can still deliver internationally!
Kokua Sun Care
This brand uses natural Hawaiian grown ingredients in their suncreams which means it is super healthy for the skin and environment. Kokua is another reef-friendly brand of suncreams which means you can wear this before going in the sea and not stress free.
The use of non-nano zinc oxide provides effective protection against UVA and UVB rays which is great for the skin.
Kokua are also passionate about limiting their waste so they use eco-friendly packaging and also donate a portion of their profits to environmental organisations.
Prices range from €18.55 (sun spray) to €25.97 (3oz cream).
Manda
This is another amazing sustainable and cruelty-free brand that sells lots of other beauty products.
Their two suncream products are the Sun Paste ($28, €21) and the Creme ($32, €29.72). The Sun Paste is made from the natural and anti-inflammatory ingredient of Thanaka which is the wood of a native tree in Myanmar. Their commitment to using organic and sustainable products is something we love!
Thanks for reading this article and we hope that you continue to be conscious consumers this summer.
